Team MIST AEROBAT secured 2nd position in the RAeS International Light Aircraft Design Competition 2022-2023

Team MIST AEROBAT, led by Nahian Fairuz Haque (ID: 202022037) and Md. Shah Ishrak (ID: 202022029) from the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, Batch 12, secured 2nd position among 50+ teams in the prestigious International Light Aircraft Design Competition organized by the Royal Aeronautical Society. Established in 1866, the Royal Aeronautical Society is the world's first aeronautical society. This competition was the sixth in a series aimed at promoting innovation in the general aviation aircraft sector.

The team included Flight Lieutenant Gazi Faisal Hossain (ID: 202022008), Mithila Islam Moon (ID: 202022033), Faria Tasnim Dhruba (ID: 202022007), Syeda Mohsina Akhter (ID: 202022046) and Lecturer Rizwan Morshed (ID: 100403). Rizwan Morshed's enhanced aerobatic flight controlling capabilities enabled the team to compete closely with the first-place winners, particularly excelling in flight simulation and aerodynamic design.

Team MIST AEROBAT presented their design at the Light Aircraft Design Conference, hosted by the Royal Aeronautical Society on November 13, 2023.

Assistant Professor Md. Jalal Uddin Rumi and Lecturer Saif Reza served as faculty advisors, providing crucial support throughout the competition.
