The goal of this contest is to raise awareness about environmental issues, encourage creative expression, and inspire sustainable action through informative and visually engaging displays.

📌 Who Can Participate?

• Undergraduate university students of Bangladesh
• Team: Up to 3 members (individuals also allowed)

🌍 GIS Case Competition

The goal of this contest is to have students utilize their analytical and mapping skills simultaneously, leveraging spatial and geographic data analysis tool –“Geographic Information System (GIS)” using ArcGIS.

Scopes:

The River Buriganga, flowing beside Dhaka, Bangladesh, is crucial for transportation, domestic use, and industrial activities. It faces severe pollution from industrial waste, sewage, tannery effluents, and solid waste. Participants will analyze the given water quality data of the River Buriganga, and map the most vulnerable locations incorporating all given parameters. Based on the analysis, participants will also propose innovative, realistic, and economically viable mitigation measures suitable for implementation in Bangladesh. Additionally, they will create a map layout showing the suitable locations in the study area for waste disposal considering some given criteria (lulc, road networks, industry, waste disposal etc.). Optionally, participants may include a probable cost estimation of their proposed plan.

The goal of the contest is to engage participants in a fun, fast-paced quiz that raises awareness about environmental issues, promotes eco-friendly habits, and encourages knowledge-sharing about sustainability, climate change, biodiversity, and conservation practices.

✍️ Environmental Article Writing

The goal of this contest is to encourage critical thinking, creativity, and informed expression among participants by exploring environmental issues through the lens of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

📝Contest Details

• Topic: Based on SDG Goals- 6,11,13,14,15 (to be provided at the venue)
• Word Limit: Maximum 2000 words
• Rules:
  ‣ No smartphone, laptop, or Wi-Fi access allowed
  ‣ All writings will be done using Microsoft Word document.
